The fact that the hurricane sandy bill was not passed the minute it was introduced boggles my mind. I don't understand what members of the house are benefitting from by letting innocent people suffer. Peter king was absolutely right with everything he said about the Republican Party. I commend Chris Christie for calling out the speaker of the house to expose the scum he truly is. The members of the house who did not vote in favor of this bill should be fired.
Although he was slightly out of line I see where Peter King was coming from. He's angry and hurt by what he's witnessing so his words seem to have gotten the better of him, but still he sends out a good message. And yet, no one is focusing on what he's saying, they seem to be focusing on how he bad mouthed the Republican party which just show's where everyone's heads are at right now: not where they're supposed to be. Chris Christie speaks his mind quite often and I respect that, he's absolutely in the right. He took charge during Sandy, and made sure his people were getting the help they needed. He has every right to bad mouth the imbecile who decided to put the bill that would fund the relief on hold. People need help, there are still people without homes and without the proper necessities to live, this whole thing is ridiculous.
Peter King was absolutely right in what he said, and I tip my hat to him that he is able to stick to his beliefs and values no matter what. However, I also appreciate the way Michael Grimm approached the situation. He seemed to have a little bit more of a level head about the situation. I'm not saying people shouldn't be outraged- because people should be out-raged by this. However, as a member of congress, it is probably in everyone's best interest if you approach the situation in a way where people will hear you out and not dismiss you. Otherwise, nothing will get done anyway. Good for Peter King, Michael Grimm, and Chris Christie- hopefully people in Congress are listening, and will provide the aid that is so very much needed.
I am in shock that Peter King went against his own party, but I could understand why. I'm glad that he stood up for his beliefs and that he is considerate of the Sandy victims. I'm also glad that Governor Chris Christie has also made statements about the failure of the relief fund and recognized that the blame is on Speaker Boehner and a majority of the Republicans. I believe that Congressman Michael Grimm is also compassionate about Sandy victims. He recognizes that people are still in need of aid and that the bill needs to be passed as soon as possible. People need to fix their homes, their businesses, and cities need to be rebuilt. I hope that Congress will listen and pass the relief bill.
Peter King wants to help out sandy hurricane victims with economic aid. Yet many congress members do not agree with this aid plan. Many victims of hurricane sandy are displaced and have no homes and do not know which way to turn in the rebuilding phase. There is a lack of concern for sandy victims who do not have the funds to continue in there building process in order to get their lives back together. There should be more looked into the funds that should be provided.
I agree with peter king 100% that he feels that the republicans are doing the wrong thing by NOT giving the people if new york and New Jersey the money they deserve and aid. I was a victim of the storm my self and thou the hurricane only got my basement and cars i felt the pain of the cold weather and hopelessness that many people of new york and new york still feel. Many of our belongs got destroyed and even some of our family's hurt so republicans it not like we created this is was nature so by putting the blame on us wont solve the problem only make it worst!
Peter King, Chris Christie and Micheal Grimm have demonstrated their funstration and anger toward the Republic Party for not helping the people frim the sandy storm. These people are without homes, they have lost everything and it is winter I could not even begin to imagin how these people are coping with the cold. I am glad that these people did take a stand against their party members
I feel that he is taking it hard in blaming the whole Republican Party for the bill not being passed, but however his is right to be angry at the one that left and did not cast a vote. I feel as though Grimm has said it the best, as well as Christy, they both know the damage done and what it is going to take to get things back to normal. I feel as though it should have been accepted and I think it will over time. Grimm will show that this has had a bigger affect then people really know. It is all about rebuilding and they do feel stabbed and betrayed by not getting the bill now.
I want to be shocked and surprised by what happened, but in this day and age, you can never be surprised by the disgusting acts of some. I dont blame Peter King for saying what he did. Who cares about the price tag, these are peoples lives. These people are so worried about money and business they forget about the lives suffering. I like that these three are actually doing their jobs and trying to make the world better and not just trying to keep their job. Hopefully people will listen and agree with them and help those suffering soon. They need to realize that for our country we need all of our states to be strong. Thats what guys like Christie, Grimm, and King realize. Hopefully everything will be fixed
I think that Congress needs to pass this bill now. People are still suffering and they need a lot of help. Republican Peter King was right when he said that when other Congressmen need money they turn to New York. I also feel bad for him because he has to fight for the victims and how Speaker Boehner isn't seen on t.v. It seems that most of the politicians care about the numbers except for the number of people affected by this superstorm.
I have alot of respect for Peter King for holding his ground even though it wasn't the popular opinion. I agree with people before me in saying that although i agree with him, he should of calmed down and handled it calmly because no one seemed to care about what he was saying, but more about how he was "disgracing the republican party". The bill is really delayed and should be passed immediately.
The fact that this is even an issue is disgusting and extremely disrespectful to all of the victims of the storm. To hold off the relief that people so desperately need for this long really shows what kind of trash we have leading this country, but i applaud Peter King and Michael Grimm for being the voice of the voiceless. These people need someone to strongly represent them and these two men are putting in the effort to do so.
I agree with Peter king for against his party because its ridiculous to me that a bill has not been pass for victims of hurricane sandy. The Republican Party to me had plenty of time to pass a bill and in my opinion I feel as if they really don't care about the victims of sandy because it probably didn't affect them personally.
I have a lot of respect for what King did. He spoke out against his own party for doing something wrong which takes a lot of guts. It disgust me that the republicans(not all of them) did not want to pass the bill that will help the victims that just shows how heartless they are and that they only care about themselves. Speaker Boehner has to come to his senses and pass the bill.
Republican king Peter wants to help the victims of hurricane sandy but his party does not agree with him, they are refusing to help and pass the package which will help and give the victims from hurricane sandy whom are still effected 60 billion dollars. Chris Christie also wants to help and wants the Senate's package to help those affected. He issued a joint statement saying that people are suffering families are out of their homes and men and women remain jobless and are struggling through these harsh winter months. I personally don't understand why the rest of King Peters party refuses to help and pass the bill, what are we not important enough?
I respect what Peter King had to say because even though he's going against his own party he doesn't care for that he's speaking the truth and only cares about the bill to be passed and he is outraged that it wasn't passes immediately after it happened unlike Hurricane Katrina which the bill was passed immediately, Peter King is furious at the republican party.
I agree with what Peter King did because he wants to help the people that were affected by the super storm Hurricane Sandy. He thinks its unfair that a bill was passed right after Hurricane Katrina even though Hurricane Sandy left more destruction than Katrina did. He held his ground and for that I respect him even more.
It is very ironic that the Republicans are attacking their own party for not acting and pushing for a Sandy aid bill. I agree with them that they should have passed a bill for Sandy relief and it is not fair that they didn't.
Peter King got a little carried away when he was speaking, his anger should be with the person who walked off the floor. He has every right to be angry with those who aren't helping hurricane sandy victims, it's ridiculous that they wouldn't pass the bill.
Chris Christie was mad as well, and he squarely blamed those house members. They are to blame. They obviously aren't focusing on the needs of the people or what's best for the people who were affected. People still need help and it's been months already, there's no reason not to pass a bill to help these victims.
