Hello my students! Unfortunately I will be out again. My daughter is in the hospital very sick. So this means that I expect my 17 year olds to be responsible and do their work on their own!
1. You must read all of Chapter 9. In addition to reading it, you are responsible for taking your own notes on the chapter. . .
2. In a email please send me a copy of the notes you take. Please do not rewrite the chapter -just take notes on the important information! Please break up each page by section 9-1, 9-2, 9-3
Put a title for the section and bullet points of important information.
YOUR EMAIL MUST HAVE YOUR NAME AND govt class SECTION ON THE SUBJECT AREA OF THE EMAIL. Those who do not have name and and class section will not get credit!!
Example: Robert Cann -Section 7
3. Last but not least I would like you to look up the President Pro Tempore of Senate who actually just died yesterday and tell me about him in the comment area.

ReplyDeleteDaniel Inouye was the President Pro Tempore until yesterday :( RIP. He was Japanese American but he represented Hawaii (I bet he was able to surf). He was the highest-ranking Asian American politician in U.S. history as President Pro Tempore.
He just got succeeded by Mr. Patrick Leahy. (applause)

Senator Daniel K. Inouye was 88 years old when he died. He was Senates's second longest serving member. He served in Senate for 50 years, and was elected into his 9th term in 2010. He was also a WWII veteran who earned a Medal of Honor. Vice President Biden stated that "he was one of the most honorable men I have ever met in my life..."

ReplyDeleteOn December 17, 2012 the President Pro Tempore of the United States Senate, Daniel Inouye, died at the age of 88. He was elected into office on June 28, 2010. He was also a Senator from Hawaii and a member of the House of Representatives. He was a part of the US Army and served as a Lieutenant. He fought in WWI and remained in the army until 1947 when he had lost his arm. The new President Pro Tempore is Patrick Leahy.
